The Trip

We had the most amazing time at the beach these past few days.

It all started on a Wednesday afternoon.......
You may notice that Jordan is sitting in the back seat instead of the drivers seat.. There is an explanation for this... As I said in my last blog, this was to be my first camping trip to the beach. We actually planned this trip back in January and paid for our camping site. But sometime ago my parents revealed to us that they were going to be staying in Alligator Point, FL (a mere 45 miles away) on the same weekend but that they were going down Wednesday (instead of Thursday like we had planned). So being the wonderful loving parents they are, they invited us to stay with them Wednesday night while Adam brought the camper down with him on Thursday after he got off work.
Again, I said my wonderful loving parents... and they had a really nice house to stay in for the weekend....

Although we were only there one night, it was worth the early drive down because Jordan and I were able to spend most of the day on Thursday relaxing in the pool....
Thursday morning was a very foggy morning.....
Before the sun had risen, Jordan and I decided to take a walk to the beach to watch the sunrise...

So, we tried to see the sunrise, but the with all the fog, we weren't able to see it... We did see some really neat porpoises not far from the shore and a really large pelican feeding... So the morning stroll was definitely worth it :)

So, Adam made it down to St. George Island after we had spent the day at the pool. And we had a cookout in the state park at the beach. I had been craving a steak from the marketplace on the Island, and it was the yummiest steak Jordan and I had ever eaten :)

The beach and sunset that evening were absolutely breathtaking :)

So, after sunset we set the camper up... and it was a little messy at first, but it was our own place to stay :)

Friday we went to town and rented a tricycle for me to ride.

I rented a tricycle instead of a bicycle because I do not have very good coordination on two wheels. Being 18 weeks pregnant at the time, we decided that it would be safer if I did NOT have a wreck while at the beach....
The rest of the day we spent at the beach, played in the waves and had dinner at one of the best seafood places in the world.. The Blue Parrot.

It was mucho delicoso :)

Saturday was spent at the beach as well with a trip to get some awesome pizza at BJ's Pizza and Subs...

Sunday we worshiped with the East Point Church of Christ and made the long drive home. I ended up being sick and staying home sick from work on Monday...

I feel as though this will be a trip we will always remember. It was so nice to spend some time just relaxing and hanging out with my super amazing husband. (He seriously is something special).
We figured this would probably be our last camping trip before our Son is born in September. And it was truly amazing. I can now look forward to future camping trips with the entire family. That is, with baby Robert outside the womb :)

Our Beach Vacation

My wonderful husband and I are heading out today for a 4 1/2 day beach vacation. I am finally going to be able to share my favorite place in the world with my favorite person in the world.

                                                            St.George Island, Florida

This will be our first trip to the beach as a married couple. We did spend a weekend together with his family in Gulf Shores when we were dating, which I must say I do believe Gulf Shores is a beautiful place as well.

                                                           Gulf Shores, Alabama

This will be my first camping experience at the beach.

Needless to say, the hubby and I are very very excited about this trip we are taking today.

                                                            (notice excitement on face)

Stay tuned......................
